Chief Secretary and DGP visit North Tripura district following post-poll violence

Agartala, Feb 22(FD) Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Director General of Police Amitava Ranjan, and Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte travelled to North Tripura District to assess the state of law and order there on Monday.
The District Magistrate Nagesh Kumar B and Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K also attended the meeting in the Circuit House to assess the situation. It is reported that the Chief Secretary gave the authorities orders to keep a careful eye on everyone at all times to prevent any incidents.
Speaking to the media, Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte stated that the purpose of the visit was to assess the district's post-election law and order situation. He claimed that the administration is making every effort to maintain tranquilly on March 2 during the voting count. He asserted with assurance that the vote-counting process would go well. According to the information obtained, the Chief Secretary may travel to other districts to assess the situation and the measures taken to keep it calm.
In their respective areas, all the District Magistrate and SDMs are hosting meetings with representatives from every political party to inform them of the measures the administration has taken to guarantee a peaceful election count. FD SB JK
