Chief Minister urges peaceful Durga Puja, announces Mayer Gomon carnival

Agartala, Oct 02 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, has called for a peaceful and orderly Durga Puja festival while urging all citizens, including puja organizers, to adhere to the government's guidelines for a smooth celebration.
Dr. Saha emphasized the joy of a successful and peaceful completion of Durga Puja during a preparatory meeting for Mayer Gomon and Sharadsamman 2023 at MuktaDhara Auditorium.
During the meeting, it was decided that the Mayer Gomon or Carnival would be organized in Agartala on October 26, with the main event taking place in front of the City Centre at Melar Math.
Dr. Saha commended the cooperation of everyone in successfully organizing last year's Sharadotsav and Mayer Gomon events in Agartala. He instructed the concerned department officials to ensure the repair of all city roads before Sharadotsav.
The mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Dipak Majumder, assured that special initiatives would be taken to maintain cleanliness and ensure a pollution-free festival, continuing efforts from previous years. The state government had previously hosted the first-ever Durga Puja Carnival in 2019.
Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, ICA Secretary P.K. Chakraborty, West District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan, and IG (Law and Order) Soumitra Dhar were among those present at the meeting. FD SB
