Agartala, May 12 (FD) Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, inaugurated a seven-day special NSS camp and a blood donation camp at Bijoy Kumar Girls' High School. During the programme, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of the NSS in connecting the younger generation with national goals and developing their personalities. He also urged NSS volunteers to take a lead role in building a drug-free Tripura.
Dr. Saha “the significance of modern education and the role of teachers in providing academic learning. He emphasised that the teachings and advice provided by teachers have a deep impact on students, guiding and brightening their path ahead”. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of teaching students to respect their elders and be kind to their juniors.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted the need to restore the country's ancient universities' culture, where students from abroad used to come to obtain learning. He mentioned that the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is making efforts to restore that culture by bringing forward the National Education Policy.
The Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Dipak Majumder, also spoke about the objective of NSS, which is to inculcate a helping attitude in students and generate a sense of social duty among them. The Head Mistress of Bijoy Kumar Girls' High School, Anamika Debbarma, delivered the welcome speech, while the Chairman of the School Management Committee, Upananda Debbarma, delivered the vote of thanks.
Corporator of AMC Bhaswati Debbarma and Education Director N. C. Sharma were also present at the event. Additionally, the Chief Minister launched a digital library in the school for e-learning by the students and planted a tree sapling on the school premises.
Overall, the event highlighted the crucial role of the NSS in shaping the future generation's personality and connecting them with national goals.
