Chhabimura Tourism Project Launched to Attract Global Visitors: CM Saha

Agartala, May 6 (FD) With the insurgency is on the wane Tripura is developing as a good tourist spot to visit by the people from the home and abroad, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said on Tuesday.
Saha today laid the foundation stone for tourism facilities worth Rs. 67 crore at Chhabimura, a famous rock cut carving in Gomati district and said that numbers of tourists are increasing in the state after the insurgents bade farewell.
“Now Tripura is a peaceful state as the insurgency has gone away. The numbers of tourists are increasing in the state every day after the enemas surrender of the members of the two outlawed insurgent outfits”, he said.
Dr. Saha said in the year 2024-25 more than seven lakh tourists have visited the state which is two lakh more than the previous year adding that the government was making continuous endevour to make Tripura a favourable place for tourists.
He said, all facilities like good tourist’s Bungalow, good foods and arrangements for availability of tourist’s police to ensure their safety is being made.
Minister for tourism, Sushanta Chowdhury said that the Chief Minister Dr. Manik saha today laid the foundation for tourism infrastructures worth Rs. 67 crore under the Asian Development Bank funding which would develop two big lakes Fatik Sagar and Amar Sagar and the rock cut carvings on the bank of Gomati.
Chowdhury said with the enhancement of tourism facilities the state wants to create employment opportunities and preserve its rich cultural heritage. FD JK
