Celebration of 75th Foundation Day of Maharaja Bir Bikram College begins

Agartala, Sep 5 (FD) The Platinum Jubilee celebration of Maharaja Bir Bikram College started on Monday with a colourful rally.

Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman and the Vice-Chancellor of MBB University Satyadeo Podder formally inaugurated the rally from in front of the Heritage building of the college.

Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Mayor Dipak Majumder, Chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation Santosh Saha and other dignitaries participated in the rally.

All the twenty-four departments of the college participated in the rally with unique concepts.

Besides, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath along with other dignitaries inaugurated various programmes on the occasion of the celebration of the 75th Foundation Day of Maharaja Bir Bikram College. 

Moreover, an exhibition gallery of the college is also scheduled to be inaugurated today.

As decided during a preparatory meeting on August 17 several initiatives will be held to mark the occasion which are included- Swachata Abhiyan and tree plantation, sweets and fruits distribution among the patients of cancer hospital, educational kits distribution to an orphanage, Inter-college Football Tournament, cultural events, blood donation camp and seminar etc.

The closing ceremony will take place on September 9 in presence of President Droupadi Murmu, Governor SatyadeoNarain Arya, Chief Minister Dr. ManikSaha and other dignitaries. FD PD JK
