Cargo Transportation Service Inaugurated at MBB Airport: Sushanta

Agartala, Apr 28 (FD) Agartala's MBB airport witnessed a significant milestone as the Minister for Food and Transport, Sushanta Chowdhury, formally inaugurated the cargo transportation service in a special ceremony. The minister highlighted that the airport's reconstruction aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of establishing modern air services to connect Agartala with the rest of the country. Sushanta emphasised the importance of the new cargo carriage service, stating that it meets the growing demand for transporting goods to and from Tripura for trade and commerce at both national and international levels. Local businessmen stand to greatly benefit from this development.
The colourful event was graced by the presence of Uttam Chakma, the state's transport secretary; Debapriya Bardhan, DM (west); Subrata Chowdhury, the transport commissioner; Kailas Chandra Meena, the director of MBB airport; as well as CISF officers responsible for airport security and officials associated with the cargo service.
The introduction of the cargo transportation service at MBB airport is expected to enhance the region's connectivity and bolster economic activities by enabling the smooth movement of goods. This move represents a significant step towards realising the government's goal of fostering a modern and efficient transportation infrastructure.
