Budget session of the Tripura assembly to begin on March 21, seven-day long session would be the longest in last 15 years

Agartala, Mar 13 (FD) The budget session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly will begin from March 21 and conclude on April 1, official sources said today.

“The budget session would start on March 21 and would be concluded on April 1. State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy will present the budget of the 2025-26 on the first day of the session”, state parliamentary affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath said today.

He said this decision was taken in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) held at the assembly premises, which was presided over by the Speaker, Biswa Bandhu Sen and attended by several ministers, legislators of the opposition political parties and the leader of the opposition, Jitendra Chowdhury.

Nath said, “The session would take place in qseven sittings and the session would be the longest one in the last 15 years”.

However, the legislators of the opposition Congress and CPI-M on several occasions alleged that the house of the assembly was functioning less in the BJP regime. FD JK
