BSF in operation seizes Yaba tablets; nabs 3 Bangladeshi infiltrators

Agartala, Oct 17 (FD) The BSF, on specific intelligence input, carried out a joint operation with local police at areas under the border outpost Kamlasagar in Sepahijala district and apprehended one minor roaming in suspected mode and recovered from his possession one packet containing 4,495 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 44,95,000 in market price. BSF Tripura sector headquarters, in a statement stated this.
BSF also informed that the troops apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals in the area of Rahimpur border outpost under Kalamchaura in Sepahijala district while they were trying to sneak into Indian Territory by negotiating the border fence. Both apprehended Bangladeshi nationals are residents of Dhaka, Bangladesh, the statement said. On interrogation of the apprehended infiltrators, the troop also apprehended one tout involved in facilitating infiltration.
In another operation, on the intervening night of 16th and 17th October one Bangladeshi national was apprehended in the area of Mohanpur BOP under PS Sidhai of West district while he was trying to enter Indian Territory by negotiating the border fence. Apprehended BD national is resident of Chapainawabganj District, Bangladesh. In two separate intelligence-based joint operations by BSF, along with GRP Agartala and Tripura Police, three Indian touts involved in facilitating illegal migration/immigration were arrested.
The statement said the BSF has stepped up vigilance along the border in Tripura and mounting surveillance on the activities of touts to break the backbone of the tout’s module functioning across the border.
