BSF height vigilance, apprehended 14 Bangladeshis form Sabroom

Agartala, Nov 13 (FD) Encouraged by the secret NIA operations against human trafficking, BSF, the lone border guarding organization in the country has heightened its vigilance along the 856 km long porous border in Tripura and managed apprehend 14 Bangladeshi nationals from Sabroom, the southernmost town in Tripura near the Indo-Bangla international border on Sunday
The detained individuals, suspected to be victims of trafficking, were allegedly planning to board a train to Delhi. They are currently undergoing interrogation at the Sabroom police station.
Local traffickers, identified as Kraisu Mog, Athubhai Mog, and Khoka Tripura, were reportedly involved in bringing the Bangladeshi citizens into the state illegally. Authorities have arrested these traffickers and two women, while two others remain at large. Children are among the detained Bangladeshi nationals.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the arrested individuals had intended to travel to Delhi. The NIA has raised concerns about Tripura becoming a trafficking corridor, exploiting gaps in the state's intelligence. The defense department is expected to take preventive measures against illegal infiltration in the coming days.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken decisive action against a human trafficking ring in Tripura, apprehending 21 traffickers and transporting them to Delhi.
