Agartala, May 5 (FD) A young political supporter was left fighting for his life after a suspected case of mistaken identity led to a firing incident by border security personnel in Tripura’s Boxanagar area, raising serious concerns over operational protocols and civilian safety.
The incident occurred in Dakshin Para under the Boxanagar assembly constituency in Sonamura subdivision. Ikramul Hossain, 28, had earlier participated in a celebratory rally marking his party’s electoral success in neighboring West Bengal. Residents rushed to the scene and transported the injured man to Boxanagar Primary Health Centre. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala, where he remains in critical condition.
