Border along Bangladesh to remain shut during the by-elections in Tripura

Agartala, August 26 (FD) In view of the two by-elections in two constituencies in Sipahijala district of Tripura authorities have decided to close the border along Bangladesh for three days from September 3 to September 5.
By-elections in Boxanagar and Dhanpur Assembly constituencies would be held on September 5.
The District Magistrate and District Election Officer of Sepahijala district issued an official order to strictly follow the directives from 7 AM on September 3 to the end of polling on September 5.
However, the officers and jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF), responsible government officials, and members of the security forces would be allowed to cross the border in case of emergency.
The strict measures were taken to stop the movements of the untoward elements during the election process is on.
Officials said, entry of passengers through the Srimantpur Immigration Center of the Sonamura subdivision in Sepahijala district was strictly prohibited during the time. FD JK
