BJP’s rath Yatra to be flagged off by Amit Shah on Jan 5

Agartala, Dec 30: Union home minister Amit Shah will flag off two eight-day long ‘Rath Yatra” from two different places of the state on January 5 next and the All India BJP President J P Nadda will conclude the Ratha Yatra at Agartala, party sources said.
Addressing a press conference, the president of the Tripura unit of ruling BJP, Rajib Bhattacharjee said, “The BJP would virtually kickoff its campaign for the assembly elections due in February with the flagging off the eight-day long Ratha yatra. The programme would be flagged off by the union home minister Amit bhai Shah”
He said the eight day long Ratha Jatra will start from two ends of the state on the same day from Dharmanagar in North Tripura district at 11 am and from Sabroom in South Tripura district at 3 pm.
Information and Cultural Affairst minister Sushanta Chowdhury, who was entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the Ratha Jatra said that altogether 10 lakh people would be involved with the yatra.
He said both the Rathas from two places would be arriving at Agartala on January 12 and the national president of the party J P Nadda will deliver the valedictory speech
A three-member committee headed by Minister Sushanta Chowdhury was formed to organize the ‘rath yatra’, a first of its kind in any north eastern state.
“People are showing their utmost support to our party due to good governance delivered by our government”, he said.
