Agartala, July 22 (FD) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tripura Pradesh, on Wednesday announced a major organisational reshuffle by appointing a new team of state office-bearers and presidents of its various frontal organisations (Morchas), in a move aimed at strengthening the party's organisational network ahead of future political and electoral engagements.
The appointments were announced by BJP Tripura State president Abhishek Debroy following the approval of the party's National President and consultations with the central leadership. According to an official notification, the new appointments have come into effect immediately.
As part of the restructuring, the party has appointed six State Vice-Presidents — Tapas Bhattacharya, Amit Rakshit, Ratan Ghosh, Uttara Debbarma, Tapas Majumder and Ajanta Bhattacharjee.
The new team of State General Secretaries comprises Bhagaban Chandra Das, Bipin Debbarma and Chandan Debnath.
The BJP has also named Bhumika Nanda Reang, Kamal Dey, Nabadal Banik, Mimi Majumder, Malina Debnath and Rathindra Jamatia as State Secretaries.
In other key organisational appointments, Nagadhiraj Datta has been appointed as the State Treasurer, while M.K. Nath will serve as the Joint Treasurer. Mihir Sarkar has been appointed as the Office Secretary.
Simultaneously, the party announced the presidents of its various Morchas, reinforcing its focus on strengthening outreach among different sections of society.
The newly appointed Morcha presidents are:
Arindam Deb – State president, BJP Yuva Morcha
Mousumi Das – State president, BJP Mahila Morcha
Abhijit Debbarma – State president, BJP Scheduled Tribe (ST) Morcha
Bapi Das – State president, BJP Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha
Sukanta Ghosh – State president, BJP Other Backward Classes (OBC) Morcha
Pradip Baran Roy – State president, BJP Kishan Morcha
Md. Billal Mia – State president, BJP Minority Morcha
The party said the appointments are intended to further strengthen its organisational structure at the grassroots level, improve coordination between the state leadership and its frontal organisations, and enhance the effectiveness of its political and public outreach programmes.
The organisational overhaul comes at a crucial time as the BJP seeks to consolidate its presence across Tripura and intensify its engagement with key social groups, including youth, women, farmers, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and minority communities.
Political observers view the reshuffle as part of the party's broader strategy to reinforce its organisational machinery, expand its grassroots base and prepare for upcoming political and organisational challenges in the state. FD JK
