Agartala, Nov 07 (FD) Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma today strongly asserted that the BJP would register its second consecutive win in Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya after Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur.
Elections are due in the three states early next year and hectic politicking has started in those north eastern states.
“This is the talk of Delhi that the North East region has become a permanent stronghold of the BJP. We also have no doubt that our party will continue its winning streak in the upcoming elections in Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya for second consecutive terms like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur” , Sharma who is also the chairman of North-East Democratic Alliance told a party programme here.
He claimed that north eastern states had got highest importance in the BJP regime in the country’s 75 years of history. In this context he pointed out that the region now has five cabinet Ministers which is an all time highest.
Earlier, barely any cabinet minister used to visit Northeastern states, but now the prime minister himself visited the region sixty times, which is a record, he said.
Sharma attended the launch of Booth Vijay Abhiyan, an initiative of the state unit of BJP ahead of the state assembly elections, which was held at Rabindra Satwarshiki Bhvan.
He said that the ruling BJP would return to power by winning 55 out of total 60 assembly seats in the upcoming state elections in Tripura.
Sharma, who played a crucial role in establishing BJP led government here by ending twenty five years Marxist rule state that the saffron party had made considerable developments in the state in last five years rule.
He said, “I have seen remarkable changes in the five years rule of BJP in terms of development and the foundation of the organization has been much stronger than earlier, which gives me hope that the party will return to power by winning 55 out of 60 assembly seats in the upcoming state elections”.
He also claimed that Tripura has actually transformed into a HIRA model which was the poll promise of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the last assembly elections held in 2018.
Appreciating the role of the Modi-led BJP government at the Centre, he claimed that people know that if Modi was not in power, it would not have been possible to vaccinate the people of the country during the pandemic.
Speaking at the occasion, Tripura Chief Minister asked the party activists to focus on strengthening the booths as it is the backbone of strengthening the party.
He expressed hope that his party would return to power by winning all the 60 assembly seats in the upcoming state assembly elections.
