BJP to organize Ratha jatra in the poll bound Tripura, central leaders to visit the state

Agartala, Dec 26 (FD): A bunch of central leaders of the ruling BJP would visit Tripura in the first week of January as the ruling party has geared up for intensive campaign for the state elections due in February next.
Union home minister Amit Shah and All India BJP President J P Nadda will be arriving in the first week of the next month, reliable party sources said.
Meanwhile, the party in a statement said that BJP will organize a week long ‘rath yatra’ in the state to seek blessings of the common masses in the poll bound state.
A three-member committee headed by Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister Sushanta Chowdhury was formed to organize the ‘rath yatra’, a first of its kind in any north eastern state.
BJP Media-in-charge, Sunit Sarkar said, two Jatras would be organized – one from North Tripura district and the other from South Tripura district to gather people from all walks of life in the party fold.
“People are showing their utmost support to our party due to good governance delivered by the government . We hope that people overwhelmingly join the rath jatra”, party chief spokesperson, Subrata Chakraborty said.
Party sources said that a group of BJP leaders including West Bengal party unit president, Sukanta Majumder would also visit the state and many of the leaders would stay in the state for strengthening party’s organization before the elections.
Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary B L Sontosh on Sunday held meeting with the election management committee to consolidate works for the elections, Sarkar said. FD JK
