Agartala, Dec 24 (FD) Stating that the ruling BJP would emerge victorious in the next sixty-member assembly elections slated for early next year, former Chief Minister and the incumbent Rajyasabha member, Biplab Kumar Dev on Saturday said, the saffron party would win in more seats than the last elections held in 2018.
“People voted us in 2018 to save their own life, but now they will vote for Tripura's future.
Now Tripura is the first state in India to have no drugs, and this was done under the BJP government”, he told a press conference.
Deb claimed that the BJP, which has given a good shape of the administration and also had drawn a vision that what would happen in the state in the next 25 years.
He said that under the direction of Modi ji, he held the position of Chief Minister in the state for 4 years and 2 months and now represents Tripura in the Rajya Sabha as a member.
“Every day for the entire 13-day session, I attempted to bring up issues pertaining to Tripura, such as the need for a new airport in Kailashahar, a new office for the Archeological Survey of India in Agartala, and the opening of old Border Haats in Kamalasagar and Sabroom”.
He proposed for opening of three new Border Haats in Khowai, Bamutia, and Srinagar.
He claims that Tripura has only one major opposition party, the CPIM, and that the other parties have no value in the state.
Deb also pointed out that in 2015 the size of the state budget was 1400 core under the CPIM government, but with the BJP government, it was boosted to 2700 core.
Tax revenue collections has increased in the state with the saffron party at the helm of affairs and the rate of literacy and per capita income has also increased considerably.
He also claimed that had the BJP was not in power the state would have floated with drugs. FD SB JK
