BJP Takes Out Victory Procession in Agartala After Poll Success in Assam, West Bengal

Agartala, May 4 (FD) Celebrating the party’s strong performance in the Assembly elections in Assam and West Bengal, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday organised a massive victory procession in the city.
The rally commenced from the party’s state headquarters at Krishnanagar and passed through key thoroughfares before culminating at the party office via Paradise Chowmuhani.
The procession was led by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, BJP state president Rajib Bhat
tacharjee, senior leader Subal Bhowmik, and ministers Sushanta Chowdhury, Tinku Roy and Kishore Barman. Several MLAs, including Meena Rani Sarkar, Antara Deb Sarkar and Amit Rakshit, also joined the march, along with Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder and minority leader Billal Mia.
Large numbers of supporters and residents lined both sides of the streets, greeting the procession and cheering party leaders as it moved through the city.
A senior BJP leader described the electoral outcome in Assam as anticipated but noted that the increased tally of seats made the victory more significant. Referring to West Bengal, the leader termed the result a “major political achievement” for the party.
He further said the BJP would now intensify efforts to expand its organisational base in Tripura. FD JK
