Agartala, Nov 6 (FD) The Tripura unit of ruling BJP has successfully achieved the target of enrolling more than 10 lakh people in its ongoing membership drive, state Prabhari Rajdeep Roy said on Wednesday.
Roy, who arrived here today for supervision of the process of enrolling the membership drive said, over 8.51 lakh people have enrolled their names as members online and above two lakh people have enrolled their names offline. 1.50 names of the total two lakh people have already been uploaded in the system as members, he added.
“When we set up a target o enrolling 10 lakhs members in this tiny state, we have already achieved the target in the second phase itself. The final phase of the membership drive will end on November 15 and more names would be enrolled.
This is an excellent achievement under the leadership of the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and party president, Rajib Bhattacharya, who is also an MP”, Roy told reporters at the MBB airport here.
He also appreciated the party organizations for its activities and said the name of the state’s name now figure with Gujrat, Madhyapradesh and Assam for strong organizational networks.
On completion of the membership drive the active members would be allowed to participate in the organization elections to be held soon.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Manik Saha said, people are showing spontaneous response to join BJP, which would further strengthen the foundation of the BJP.
Saha, former state BJP President said, “The membership drive is in its second phase and would continue till November 15. We are visiting various places, and people are showing overwhelming response to join BJP. I have also joined the drive in my Bordwali constituency”.
People now have understood that there is no alternative to BJP as the party’s mantra is ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas’, he pointed out. FD JK
