Agartala, May 04 (FD) A strong political statement has emerged following the latest electoral developments in eastern India, as senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament from West Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, praised the party’s performance in the West Bengal Assembly elections, describing it as a decisive endorsement of development-driven governance.
In a message shared on social media on Monday, Deb congratulated the people of West Bengal along with BJP workers for what he termed a “historic mandate.” He attributed the outcome to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the strategic direction of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the party’s organisational strength at the grassroots level.
Deb emphasized that the electoral verdict reflects a clear rejection of “politics of fear, appeasement, and mismanagement,” asserting that voters have instead chosen progress, transparency, and stability. According to him, the mandate demonstrates a growing aspiration among citizens for a governance model that prioritizes economic growth and long-term prosperity.
Addressing journalists, Deb expressed confidence in the BJP’s future prospects in the state, stating that the party remains committed to expanding its presence and forming a government in West Bengal. He highlighted that the results point toward a broader shift in public sentiment, with increasing demand for accountability and effective administration.
The former Tripura Chief Minister also pointed to the BJP’s success in the Dharmanagar by-election in Tripura as further evidence of sustained public support. He noted that combined electoral performances across different regions indicate a strengthening trust in the BJP’s governance approach.
Describing the outcome as a “victory for the people,” Deb reiterated that the party will continue to work toward fulfilling public expectations. He concluded that the evolving political landscape in India signals a growing inclination toward development-oriented politics and stable governance frameworks. FD SB
