Agartala, May 23 (FD) To mark the first anniversary of Dr. Manik Saha's tenure as Chief Minister, the BJP organised a food distribution programme on Tuesday in the Kaman Chaumuhuni area.
Dr. Saha assumed the position of Chief Minister on May 15 last year, following the resignation of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. After the BJP's victory in the February 16 assembly elections, Dr. Saha was reelected as Chief Minister by the BJP legislature party.
In celebration of this milestone, Ward No. 20 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) arranged a free food distribution programme for the underprivileged. Councilor Ratna Dutta played a pivotal role in organizing the event.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Biplab Deb's recent comment, suggesting that the BJP in Tripura is being indirectly controlled by external elements, appears to have had no impact. Party workers and supporters have disregarded the unsavory and false remark, continuing their work as usual. This was evident during the 'Karyakarini Sabha' held in Charilam, where senior leaders of the party, including Dr. Mahesh Sharma and Phanindra Nath Sharma, were in attendance. Even West Tripura MP Pratima Bhowmik, who typically maintains distance from the state leadership, including Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, actively participated in the proceedings.
The BJP's food distribution programme and the overwhelming response from party members demonstrate their commitment to public welfare and their unity in supporting the state's leadership. FD SB JK
