Agartala, Jan 20 (FD) The leader of the opposition and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today alleged that the ruling BJP had let loose a reign of terror in its 58 month long rule in the state and had looted the democracy.
Addressing a public gathering he said, in the rule of the saffron party at least 25 activists of the opposition CPI-M were murdered and due to the terror let loose by them many party offices including the party office at Hrishyamukh remained shut for the last 58 months.
“The activists of the BJP burnt party offices and murdered so many people but the killers were at large. Police could not arrest them”, he said.
Taking a dig at the saffron party he alleged that BJP had bought maximum number of news channels and newspapers in the state, so people were not getting the real news.
He also said that the CPI-M mouth piece Daily Desher Katha is the only newspaper, which depicts the real picture of the society.
“Many schools in Tripura lack of teachers, and there is shortage of doctors in the state. After five years, the new government has still not built any school, colleges, or hospitals”, he claimed.
He also criticized the present government saying that when the employees needed 38% DA, they were given only 12% instead. FD SB JK
