In connection with its Foundation Day celebrations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana has launched a three-day mass outreach initiative titled ‘Gaon Chalo, Basti Chalo’. Starting today, the campaign will focus on intensifying public contact in slums and villages across the state. The initiative is aimed at spreading awareness about the central government’s welfare schemes and reinforcing grassroots support.
According to BJP State General Secretary K. Venkateshwarlu, senior party leaders will actively participate in the campaign. Each team will meet with at least 10 beneficiaries of Central Welfare schemes in every area they visit. As part of the drive, they will also conduct a Swachhata (cleanliness) programme at local health centres or temples and organize booth committee meetings to strengthen the party’s organisational structure.
In addition, local meetings will be held to interact with citizens, understand their issues, and gather feedback. The BJP leaders will use these insights to build momentum for launching protests against what they describe as the anti-people policies of the ruling Congress government in Telangana.
This campaign marks a strategic effort by the BJP to bolster its presence in rural and urban grassroots ahead of future political challenges.
