Agartala, 17 Oct (FD) When the elections for the sixty-member assembly is slated for early next year in Tripura the central leadership of the ruling BJP is working out in making newer election strategies to form the government for the second time.
On Sunday, BJP president J.P Nadda appointed former UP minister and MLA Mahendra Singh as in-charge and Rajya Sabha member and BJP vice president Samir Oraon as co- in charge of the Tripura state legislative election 2023.
Singh, a seasoned organisational leader, was a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary earlier and was also in charge of the party’s affairs in Assam.
Even though BJP is running government in the state, their position has become noticeably weaker in the last few years. The high command members of the party have expressed their concern for the gradual weakening of RSS in the state. With three months left for elections, the party is geared up in adopting a bunch of strategies and arrangements to take the party to the level of Trinamool congress and safely keep their government in the state.
BJP claims their victory is guaranteed if they follow through the various strategies successfully. The newly appointed in-charge Mahendra Singh has been earlier successful in leading the party in Assam to victory in 2016 state legislative election and the party is hopeful for a repeat episode in Tripura under his experienced guidance.
Co In-charge BJP vice president Samir Oraon has visited Tripura on Sunday and sat for a meeting with the state party members to discuss their strategies. A follow up meeting is to be held with the important Vidhan Sabha members of the party on Monday.
Samir Oraon said that the elections are to be held in February and thus with little time to spare, the preparation for the coming elections will be intense.
He also said that the good deeds of the state government and Modi government have to be remembered and spread across.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharya, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and other important party members delivered their greetings to newly appointed in-charges.
On the other hand in a press conference on Sunday, Minister Ram Pada Jamatia said Janjati Morcha will present charge sheets in 44 sub zones of ADC areas on several matters including nepotism. This step is said to be taken in order to bring forward the real picture of the present governance in ADC areas. State BJP Janjati Morcha president Bikash Debbarma was also present at the press conference. FD DM JK
