Agartala, Feb 10 (FD) All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee today asserted that what the CPI(M) harmed in its 25 year’s rule in Tripura the BJP had caused more harm to the state in its five years rule and the saffron party should be ousted from power in the ensuing elections.
Addressing a public rally at Kamalpur Banejee said, the BJP had let loose a reign of terror in the state by attacking opposition party workers and there was no freedom of speech and even people’s right organize political meetings in democratic way was also snatched.
He said central government’s statistics showed that the state in the five years rule of the saffron party emerged as most violent state in the North-East and there is no democracy.
Banerjee claimed that in 2021 there was a deadly attack on him by the BJP sheltered criminals who also attacked many TMC activists and leaders and they after being injured also did not get treatment in hospitals in Tripura.
“Before the BJP came to power had made many poll promises, but not a single promise was implemented. Even they said jobs would be given only after a miss call by the job seekers, but everything turned to be a false assurance”, he said.
He said, that BJP ran government which could not distribute basic amenities like drinking water, could not make good roads, even if some hospitals are there but there is no doctor, there are few universities, but there no teacher.
Banerjee said that TMC would fight the election with all might and would not leave any stone unturned to win the elections.
Banerjee said, Mamata Banerjee had fulfilled all her promises made before the elections in West Bengal and if TMC is voted to power then all the promises made in the election manifesto released recently would also be implemented in Tripura.
“Whatever schemes like Kanyasree, student merit card or Laxmir Ghot were introduced for the welfare of West Bengal would also be implemented in Tripura”, he said.
Banerjee also appealed to the voters that despite threat and intimidation by the BJP people should cast their votes to defeat them and also made a promise that he would stay with the people of the state until his last drop of blood.
He also cautioned the voters that BJP would also like to woo the voters by bribing and he advised them to take the money and not to vote for them.
“They will offer Rs 1000 or more, but you should bargain for more money. Why would you not take? It is your money, but any way would not vote them”, Banerjee said.
He said, Mamata Banerjee has shown in West Bengal how to fight and oust BJP.
“If the people of West Bengal can do, we believe the people of Tripura also can do”, he said. FD JK
