Addressing a poll rally here Modi said, “There was a communist government in Tripura which forcibly collected donations from people and the party cadres had controlled the police station. BJP freed the people from the clutches of the communists and established rule of law, which is the first precondition of development”.
He said that there is no family in Tripura that has not received the benefits of BJP's pro-people policies and the party always worked as the ‘faithful servant’ of people and tried its best to develop the state from backwardness.
Hitting out at the alliance of the CPI (M) and Congress, the Prime Minister said, they would not do anything for the development of the state because they want the poor to remain poor and they take advantage of poverty.
“Whenever Congress or CPI (M) was in power, if Delhi had sent Rs one for people, they used to take 85 paisa and gave only 15 paisa to people. The scenario has changed after BJP came to power and now 100% money is spent for welfare of the people of the state”, he said.

He said, people of the state especially ‘the mothers and sisters’ of Tripura were benefited under the Ayusman Bharat Yojana.
Modi said, three lakh poor families have got dwelling under PMAY and other poor families who have not got houses would be given in the next lot as more Rs.80,000 crore has been sanctioned by the central government for poor families in the country.
"I want to assure all those who are yet to get pucca houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana that they will get one after the BJP government takes oath in the state," he added.
