Agartala, Feb 19(FD): In order to tackle the incidents of post poll violence in Tripura, Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday formed all district level committees, a press release said.
Committee members will visit their respective districts from Monday and later submit a detailed report on the matter to BJP state unit president Rajib Bhattacharjee.
Addressing a press conference, Bhattacharjee said that the BJP's state unit has decided to firmly deal with the deteriorating situation that arose after the state assembly elections held on February 16 last.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha in the presence of top leaders on Sunday, the party spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee, present in the press conference said.
Criticizing the Left-Congress alliance for instigating alleged post-poll violence in various parts of the state, Bhattacharya said the Communists have ruled the state with the help of terror for 25 years and now Congress thugs have joined them.
In this context he cited newspaper clippings from the 1993 to 2018 election period and said that during that period people witnessed several untoward incidents including booth capturing, vote rigging and post-poll violence but in this election has set an example of fair and peaceful environment in Tripura.
The BJP state president appreciated the role of Election Commission, Defence Administration and other departments for doing their work impartially.
Besides, he thanked media personnel for disseminating accurate information to the people on the day of poll.
A visibly confident Bhattacharya said the BJP would come to power with an absolute majority in the state. He also called upon his party workers not to fall into any trap of temptation. FD PD
