The ruling BJP and opposition CPI-M clashed at Teliamura in Khowai district, in which at least nine people including two police personnel were injured, police today said.
Trouble started on Saturday evening, when a group of BJP activists attacked a CPI-M meeting at Koroilong , about 35 km from here.

When CPI-M claimed that six party activists were injured, the ruling BJP claimed that a similar number of BJP activists were also injured in the incident.
However, local BJP MLA, Kalyani Roy alleged that CPI-M activists first attacked a rally of BJP and injured six BJP activists.
