BJP activist brutally attacked by in-laws after return from victory rally

Agartala, Sept 15 (FD) A 40-year-old BJP worker and activist, Bahar Mia, was brutally attacked by his father-in-law, uncle-in-law, and brother-in-law on Wednesday. The attack occurred in Telkajla, win the Sonamura subdivision of Sepahijala district, following Bahar's participation in a victory rally for BJP candidate Tofazzel Hossain.
According to police sources, Bahar Mia had returned home after the rally and got into an argument with his wife. This dispute escalated when his father-in-law, Harun Mia, along with his uncle-in-law, Billal Mia, and brother-in-law, Suraj Mia, entered his house wielding clubs and dangerous homemade weapons like machetes.
Bahar Mia sustained severe injuries during the attack and managed to escape, seeking refuge at Sonamura Hospital. He was later transferred to the GBP hospital for treatment.
While recovering, Bahar Mia alleged that Harun Mia, his father-in-law, possessed a gun that he used for intimidation and extortion in Telkajla. Harun Mia, known as a CPI (M) supporter with a history of criminal activities, had reportedly escaped legal consequences for similar incidents in the past. FD SB JK
