Birth anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar observed at various places in Tripura

Agartala, 27 Sep (FD) Tripura celebrated the 202nd birth anniversary of the great Indian educator and social reformer, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar on Monday.
A tribute program was held at drop gate, Arundhuti Nagar and people paid respect to the sculpture of Vidyasagar. The chief guest for the program was the chairperson of west Tripura district council Antara Sarkar Deb. The program was also attended by the deputy mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Monica Das Datta, Principal of Vidyasagar higher secondary school Amitava Saha and co officer from the department of Information and Cultural Affairs Amrit Debbarma.
Udaipur celebrates the birth anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar at Rajashri hall and the program was started by the chairperson of Gomati district council Swapan Adhikari. In his speech, he addresses the major role of Vidyasagar in empowering the status of women and education. The main speaker for the function was the principal of Ramthakur University Dr. Chitra pal who highlighted various phases of Vidyasagar’s life in her speech. The welcome speech was presented by the district’s education official Lakshman Chandra Das. A cultural program and a quiz competition were held to commemorate the birth anniversary of this great man.
Jaydeb Debbarama, the chairperson of Khowai District council opened the program to celebrate the birth anniversary of social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar at Old Town hall in Khowai. The program was attended by the chairperson of Khowai whole council Debasis Nath Sharma, Vice chairman of Khowai Panchayat committee Tapas Das, co professor of Dasarath Deb Memorial College Dr. Manideepa Datta Gupta, Member of district’s cultural committee member Dipankar Bhattacharya and officer of District education council Hrishikesh Debbarma. The function was headed by Khowai whole district council member Pijush Kanti Chowdhury and the welcome speech was presented by a veteran information official Biswajit Banik. The students presented a group song performance at the function.
People paid homage to Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar by celebrating his birth anniversary at Ambasa town hall. The function was opened by chairperson of Dhalai district council Rabi Das Gope. The function was attended by co chairperson Anadi Sarkar, president of cultural committee of Dhalai district council Mridul Datta, chairperson of Ambasa district council Mamata Das and the president of cultural committee of Ambasa district council Suman Debnath. On this occasion, a free quiz competition was organized.
The Chairperson of Unakoti district council opened the program of birth anniversary at the Kailashahar town hall and was headed by the chairperson of Kailashahar district council Chapala Deb Roy. Officer of district education department Kartik Debbarma also attended the program. The program was started with an opening address from the official of Information and cultural affairs department Sukanta Malashai. A speech competition was organized among students of various schools along with valuable prizes for the winners. FD DM JK
