Bangladeshi smuggler shot dead by BSF

Agartala, Mac 1 (FD) A Bangladeshi smuggler was shot dead by BSF at Putia under Kalamchoura police station in Sepahijala district, BSF said on Saturday.
At about 7-30 PM a group of 20 to 25 Bangladeshi miscreants intruded inside Indian territory at Putia and indulged in smuggling with the Indian miscreants on Friday. When BSF cautioned them they attacked the BSF jawans in which one jawan was seriously injured, BSF said.
“When the BSF was attacked again and tried to snatch weapons, a BSF jawan opened one round of fire from PAG (Pump Action Gun) for self defense. One smuggler was injured who is now undergoing treatment at Bishalgarh hospital”, BSF said in a statement.
Police from Bishalgarh police station rushed to the spot and said that the Bangladeshi smuggler succumbed to his injuries last night.
The deceased was identified as Md. Al Alamin, whose body is now kept at the morgue of the Bishalgarh hospital.
A BSF jawan, who was earlier injured by the smugglers, is also undergoing treatment in the same hospital. FD JK
