Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina sends mangoes to Tripura CM Dr. Saha as a gift

Agartala, June 15 (FD) In a gesture of mango diplomacy, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today sent 500 kilograms of mangoes as a gift to India's Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, sources in the Asst. High Commission of Bangladsh said.

Assistant High Commissioner, Arif Muhammad said, a consignment of 500 kg mangoes was sent through the Agartala- Akhaura Integrated Check Post here as a mark of good gesture.

“Relation between Bangladesh and India is very cordial. These are a gift to the Chief Minister of Tripura a bordering state of the neighbouring country. We want to strengthen the tie between the two countries. I will personally handover the gifts to the Chief Minister, if possible today”, Arif told reporters at the check post.

Sheikh Hasina also gifted mangoes to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, he said. FD JK
