Bangladesh: Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre celebrates 75 years of Indian Council for Cultural Relations

The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, the cultural arm of the High Commission of India in Bangladesh, celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) at the Indian Cultural Centre, Dhaka yesterday.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by the Director of IGCC, Ann Mary George. She enlightened the gathering about ICCR’s extensive array of activities since its establishment on April 9, 1950, in promoting India’s cultural diplomacy globally.
The Deputy High Commissioner, Pawan Kumar Bade, in his address, congratulated the ICCR family for being the pillar of India’s cultural diplomacy for 75 years and counting. He said that the ICCR centre in Bangladesh, Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, under the aegis of the High Commission of India, serves as a hub for cultural exchange, appreciation, and dialogue.
The highlight of the evening was a vibrant showcase of Indian classical dances and musical performances presented by IGCC’s teachers, students, local artists, and ICCR’s esteemed alumni. The performances mesmerized the audience, showcasing the vibrant essence of Indian cultural heritage.
The celebrations served as a testament to the enduring legacy of ICCR in promoting cultural exchange and fostering global harmony.
