Bangladesh delegation, aimed to cross border, stopped at Akhaura check post

Agartala, Dec 11 (FD) A delegation of the youths, students and volunteers of the opposition BNP party in Bangladesh on Wednesday took an initiative to cross to the Indian territory to protest against the disregarding of Bangladesh flag here in the Asst. High Commission of Bangladesh on Dec 2 last, but was stopped by Bangladesh Security guards at Akhaura Check post in Bangladesh side.
This was a pre-scheduled programme of the BNP, so, security was beefed up in Indian side, Kiran Kumar, S.P of West Tripura district told reporters.
He said, lot of paramilitary forces including CRPF and TSR were deployed along the border to avert any untoward incident and BSF was consulted to intensify patrol along the 856 km long border with the neighbouring country.
However, no security forces actions were required in Indian side as the BGB stopped them in the border, where they held a meeting.
Some people from Indian side also gathered in the Agartala-Akhaura Check post to see the funs made by the BNP, the main legislative party in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh, comparatively a smaller country encircled by India in three sides always busy making mischief against India and perpetrating torture on the minority Hindu people in their country. FD JK
