Assam Rifles seizes YABA worth Rs. 12 crores

Agartala, Jan 21 (FD) The Assam Rifles, a central paramilitary force have recovered YABA tablets worth Rs. 12 crores from Salbagan area in West Tripura district, officials said on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, Assam Rifles raided the place and managed to arrest two drug peddlers and recovered 60,000 YABA tablets from their possession on Monday night, which costs Rs. 12 cores in black markets.
The accused were identified as Kanai Das (36), Kishan Kumar Sarkar (32), who were arrested and handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence.
Sources said they would be grilled and the examination would go on.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha in the recently held assembly session of Tripura said that in the last three years 1,665 were registered under NDPS cases and 2697 peddlers were arrested. FD JK
