Assam Rifles and Tripura Police uncover heroin haul worth Rs. 2.25 crore

Agartala, Aug 31 (FD) A collaborative operation between Assam Rifles and Tripura police resulted in the arrest of three individuals in Kumarghat, Unakoti district. The joint team executed a successful raid following a tip-off, apprehending the suspects and confiscating a substantial cache of heroin valued at Rs. 2.25 crore.
The contraband, totaling 558 gm, has been secured by the police as part of their ongoing investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that these illegal substances are entering India from Myanmar, with Mizoram serving as a transit point before distribution in Tripura and neighboring Bangladesh.
The concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies underscore their commitment to combating drug-related activities and securing the region from the negative impact of illegal substances.
