In Arunachal Pradesh, heavy rainfall and flash floods have caused widespread damage today at NEEPCO Colony in Posa, Yazali, under the Keyi Panyor district. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage, and further details are awaited.
According to inputs from Keyi Panyor, Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, the affected area remains inaccessible from both the Yazali and Hoj-Potin sides due to landslides.
The district administration said a woman was initially reported missing, while the latest reports indicate that three persons are unaccounted for. Authorities have not yet confirmed any casualties.
Meanwhile, the Assam Government has placed all its agencies on high alert after heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh triggered concerns of downstream flooding in Assam. SDRF, NDRF and other emergency response teams have been kept on standby, while district administrations have been directed to closely monitor vulnerable areas and take necessary precautionary measures.
