Arunachal Pradesh: FM Sitharaman Distributes ₹21.4 Crore in Credit Outreach Programmes

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman participated in Credit Outreach Programmes at Itanagar and Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh, today. In both programmes, sanction letters totalling 21.4 crore rupees were distributed to 355 beneficiaries under various schemes, including Retail, MSME, and Agricultural financing.
In the morning, addressing the beneficiaries in Itanagar the finance minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought 17 schemes including PM Svanidhi and Mudra Yojana, through which people can avail credit for their businesses. She said the Prime Minister has also ensured that people avail of these schemes without any mortgage or lengthy documentation. The Union Finance Minister said the Credit Outreach Programme enables the government to review if the welfare schemes are benefitting the common people.
Later in the day, the union minister inaugurated the SBI Regional Business Office in Namsai and virtually launched six additional SBI branches in the region. In a symbolic initiative for environmental conservation, she participated in a tree plantation programme at the RBO Namsai under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
As part of her engagement with the community, she interacted with local women’s Self-Help Groups flagged off a school bus and distributed 100 bicycles to female students under the CSR activity of SBI in Namsai.
