Agartala, Jun 06 (FD) Arindam Malla, a student of Hrishyamukh Higher Secondary School in South Tripura district, has emerged as the topper in this year's senior secondary, or Class 12, board exams conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE). Arindam's outstanding achievement in the Humanities stream, scoring 493 marks in total, is particularly commendable given the financial challenges his family has faced.
Despite facing financial challenges, Arindam's determination and hard work paid off. He managed to take private tuition from one teacher throughout the year, along with another teacher for a few months. Arindam's dedication to his studies, coupled with guidance from his school teachers and support from his mother and elder sister, propelled him to this outstanding achievement.
Inspired by his sister's previous success, Arindam aspires to pursue higher studies in psychology, either in Tripura or at a reputed college outside the state if he qualifies through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). His ultimate goal is to enter the civil service.
Beyond academics, Arindam engages in sports such as cricket, football, badminton, and chess. He also nurtures a passion for reading newspapers, with a particular interest in sports, global news, and politics.
Arindam's family has experienced financial hardship since his mother lost her job as a government school teacher, along with 10,323 other teachers, following a 2017 Supreme Court ruling. Nevertheless, the family's unwavering support has allowed Arindam to pursue his dreams.
Arindam hopes for the introduction of psychology and education subjects in all schools across Tripura, which would benefit students interested in these disciplines. He also appeals to the state government to waive fees for economically disadvantaged students studying in schools under the Vidyajyoti Mission.
In the Class 10 board examinations, Saptadip Pal from Santirbazar's Sunflower English Medium School emerged as the top scorer, harboring dreams of studying at an IIT.
Nilavi Bhowmik from Maharani Tulsibati Higher Secondary School secured the second position, aiming to pursue Science in the Higher Secondary exams.
Several other students, including Subhranil Debnath, Sumitra Das, Aniket Bhattacharjee, Parmita Das, and Prachi Choudhury, achieved commendable results, securing the third position in their respective schools.
The TBSE announced the results on Monday, revealing an 86.02 percent pass rate for Class 10 and an 83.24 percent pass rate for Class 12.
The remarkable achievements of these young students showcase their dedication and determination, despite various challenges, and highlight the potential within Tripura's educational system. FD SB JK
