Agartala, Jan 5 (FD): Union Minister for Home affairs, Amit Shah Thursday kicked off the campaign for the 60-member assembly elections in Tripura slated for next month by flagging off two Ratha Yatras from two ends of the state –Dharmanagar in North Tripura district and Sabroom in South Tripura district.
Addressing the first gathering at Dharmanagar amid the slogan – “Tripuray abar BJP sarkar (BJP Government in Tripura again”, he said, the BJP government has established peace in the state by ending terrorism and paved the way for all-round developments.
“We have finished the problems of terrorism through negotiation with the NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura” and brought the permanent settlement of the vexed internally displaced Brus in the state”, he said.
Shah also claimed that the BJP had ended the “Kusashan (misrule) of the Marxist government and established Susashan (good governance) for the people of the state.
“Th state was once known for terrorism, anti-national activities drug trafficking and violence and is now known for good governance, development, good infrastructure, rising investments and organic farming activities,” he said.
Coming heavily on the two opposition parties in the state, he said, Congress was finished in the country and Communists were washed out from the world”.
Shah said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promished to deliver HIRA (Highway, Internet, Railway, and Airways” model for all-round development of the state before the last assembly elections held in 2018. The BJP Government in the state has successfully implemented the promise of the Prime Minister.
He said the state government has fixed a target of supplying drinking water to 4.25 household and the works are almost complete and an investment of Rs 10,000 crore lined up for infrastructure building in the state.
“The overwhelmed response and massive participation of people in the Jan Biswas Yatra has instilled the faith in me that our party will win the assembly elections with two-thirds majority. But still I will appeal to the people to vote in favour of the ‘lotus’ for overall development of the state”, he said.
Shah said, “I had raised the slogan ‘Chalo Paltai’ (Let us Change) to bring an end to the “Communists’ misrule” and this time we raise the slogan that let lotus bloom again”.
Addressing the rally at Sabroom, Shah announced that the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be ready by January 1 next year.
Addressing a public rally Shah said, even as the Congress and CPI(M) had dragged the Ram Mandir issue to the court, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the mandir after the Supreme Court’s order.
Criticising Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shah said, “Rahul baba, listen my voice from Sabroom, that a mammoth Ram Mandir will be ready on January 1, 2024".
He also asserted that the country is safe in the hand of the Prime Minister Narendra.
