All Tripura Government Doctors’ Association holds Blood donation camps in response of CM’s appeal

Agartala Apr 18 (FD) All Tripura Government Doctors’ Association (ATGDA) organized voluntary blood donation camps in all districts of the State on Tuesday.
The camps were organized in response to Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha to hold such camps to mitigate the blood crisis in blood banks.
“There is no gift greater than donating blood. About 3 to 4 persons can be benefited through a single donor,” Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said after inaugurating the blood donation camp organized by the West District Committee of ATGDA.
The blood donation camp was organized at the seminar hall of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Memorial Nursing School of IGM Hospital here.
The Chief Minister interacted with blood donors and encouraged them.
He said that the scarcity of blood was observed in the state during the previous Legislative Assembly election.
The Chief Minister praised ATGDA for organising blood donation camps in every district of the state today.
Dr Saha- himself a doctor, stressed on proper handling of blood that blood never goes wasted and
that the supply of blood is maintained.
The Chief Minister called upon everyone to come forward in building a drug-free state.
He said, “The state government has taken up a zero tolerance policy against drugs.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Dipak Majumder, Health Secretary Dr. Debashish Basu, Medical Superintendent in charge of IGM Hospital Dr. Sumit Debbarma attended the programem.
