Agartala City Centre to witness 'Durga Puja' carnival after two-year, CM, ICA minister to attend

Agartala, Oct 6 (FD) The 'Durga Puja' carnival, initiated by the state government after two years, will see a procession of idols of goddess Durga along with their organizers proceeding towards immersion ghat, popularly known as Dashamighat, which would pass through the streets near the city centre on Friday.
The ‘carnival’ will in the form of the long procession, will pass by the City Centre in the heart of the town in the evening.
The chief minister Dr Manik Saha, information minister Sushanta Chowdhury and AMC Chaiman Dipak Majumder are likely to stand on dais in front of the City Centre to oversee the carnival procession.
It is learnt that the arrangements are made by the AMC in view if spontaneous participation of people during the procession.
AMC chairman Dipak Majumder and information minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday inspected the spot in front of the City Centre.
Both of them expressed the hope that the programme will be a grand success with spontaneous participation of people and ‘Puja’ revellers.
