Agartala, Sep 27: While Durga Puja brings an opportunity of mega celebration for the people of Agartala, it is also a chance for the people to bring out their artistic ideas and abilities in the form of innovative themes for pandals. Of such amazing themes, ChatraBandhu Club brings the devotees an elaborate pandal of 16th Kailash cave temple of the Ellora caves in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, said Rajiv Paul, the secretary of the aforementioned club.
The chatraBandhu club has always been one among the clubs that organizes wonderful themed pandals and they hope to keep their reputation intact, this year too.
The club Secretary Rajiv Paul said, “The ellora caves are a UNESCO heritage site. Last year, Durga Puja was inscribed in UNESCO’s list of cultural heritage of humanity. So we are expressing our gratitude by portraying a UNESCO heritage site in our pandal theme.”
He also said that the budget for this year's Puja is set at 40 lacs. When he was asked if the club committee has faced any issues or complaints during fund collections, he said, “People would have already found out in the newspaper in that case. The funds are assimilated from the locality, along with funds from members and businessmen in the locality. There has never been such a case and we do not believe in forceful collection as well.”
