Administration will take stern actions against attackers on media: Tripura CM

Agartala, Sep 21 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Wednesday said that strong administrative measures would be taken against the offenders if they attack journalists or resort to any sorts of violence.

“The state administration will take strict legal action in case of attack on journalists and earlier has also taken actions against such attackers. The role of media in social change is immense and media acts as a mirror of society. One of the duties of the media is to expose the mistakes of the government”, Dr Saha said after inaugurating the maiden state conference of Tripura Newspaper Society (TNS), at Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan here.

He stressed on careful construction of news and asked not to distort the information and try to present truth and reality.

Dr Saha said his government is with the media personnel and make sincere efforts to solve the problems of the media. FD PD JK
