ADC’s budget session for financial-year 2023-2024 begins

Agartala, Mar 25 (FD) The budget session for the financial year 2023-2024 of the Autonomous District Council (ADC) has begun on Friday.
After the question-and-answer session (question hour), the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of ADC, Poorna Chandra Jamatia tabled the budget with a proposal of Rs 1148.34 crore.
After placing the budget the CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia said that the budget aims to bring about transformational change in many sectors of ADC’s activities including education, health, drinking water, rural road construction and repairing etc. “Besides, we will arrange for irrigation of agricultural land for the benefit of farmers and distribute 200 auto rickshaws among unemployed youths as part of ‘Siklaham’ project” said Purna Chandra.
After presenting the budget, the CEM said that the budget aims to bring transformational changes in many sectors including education, health, drinking water, construction and repair of rural roads in ADC.
In order to benefit the farmers 200 auto rickshaws will be distributed among unemployed youths as part of ‘Siklaham’ project, Chandra added.
A number of bills were also presented for legislative approval in the ADC session on Friday. These include Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Village Committee (Administration and Second Amendment Rules-2022), District Village Committee (Maintenance of Register of General Residents) Rules-2022, District Trade License and Regulation (First Amendment Rules), District Forest Management and Regulation Act-2022, District Administration Judiciary Rules-2022 and Administration (First Amendment) Rules-2022. Bills are briefly discussed by several members.
