Ace cricketer and Tripura’s brand ambassador for tourism to visit the state soon

Agartala, Oct 7 (FD) Ace cricketer and now brand ambassador for Tripura tourism, Sourav Ganguly will soon visit Tripura to know his works for wooing the tourists in the state.
Stating this in a meeting held in Neer Mahal or the lake palace of the state Minister for Tourism, Sushanta Chowdhury said, tourism has become a priority sector of the state and the government is investing a lot to develop the tourism sector for multiplying revenue collections and making provisions for employment generations of the youths.
In his address as the Chief Guest in the traditional ‘Jal Utsav’ held in Neer Mahal on Friday, he said, “ Rs 6 crores has been spent for refurbishing Neer Mahal under the ‘Swadeshi Darshan’ programme and Rs 10 crores was spent for up gradation and decoration of Neer Mahal during the visit of the G-20 delegates”
Minister for co-operative Shukla Charan Noatia and local MLA Kisore Barman and senior officials were present in the festival.
Chowdhury said, the only lake place in the North-East will soon emerge as the spot where tourists will make beelines to visit it.
He also hoped that the Centre will ensure flow of funds for all round development of the tourism sector in the north eastern state. FD JK
