A tremor felt in Tripura, 4.0 magnitude earthquake at around 4:22 PM

Agartala, April 11 (FD) Tripura on Friday witnessed a 4.0 magnitude earthquake at around 4:22 PM with its epicenter located in Bangladesh.

Sources in the Meteorological department here informed that the earthquake coordinates 24.05 degree latitude and 91.37 longitudes with a depth of 10 km of the earth. 

The tremors were felt in Tripura and parts of Bangladesh including Ramganj Upajila, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhat and Rangpur etc. It was felt in Meghalaya and Mizoram.

Officials, who deal with the subject, said that they were aware of the earthquake and alert about safety measures as the state falls in earthquake prone zones. 

However, there was no information of any damage in any part of the region so far.FD
