A Hindu girl shot dead by Bangladesh Border Guards

Agartala, Sept 3 (FD) The minority Hindus are panicked in Bangladesh after the recent regime change is now evident when a teen-aged Hindu girl was shot dead by the scoundrel Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in the Kailashahar border in Unakoti district.
The tragic incident occurred at the wee hours of Monday, while the 16-year old teenaged was trying to cross the border with her parents. The girl’s dead body is now lying in Kailasahar hospital for post-mortem, while the injured bodies of the parents are in Maulvi Bazar hospital in Bangladesh.
Police said, the deceased identified as Swarna Das was trying to cross the border along with his fatter Rebati and mother Rani, when the border guards of Bangladesh opened fire. The bullet hit girl crossed the border and died instantly. They all hailed from Kulaura police station area in Maulavi Bazar district of the neighbouring country.
The officer in charge of Irani police station Arunoday Das, SDPO Jayanta Karmakar and BSF officers and jawans reached the spot on receipt of the information and tried to hand over the body to the BGB but they refused to accept on theplea that it had been lying on the zero point of the border. The police officials then shifted the body to Kailasahar hospital for post-mortem. FD JK
