A better center-state coordination to eradicate Left-Wing Extremism: Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that Naxalism is being completely eradicated from the country with better center-state co-ordination from the government. Mr Shah today chaired a review meeting with the Chief Ministers of Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) affected states in New Delhi today.
The Home Minister said that incidents of Naxal violence have come down from over 16 thousand to around 7 thousand 700.
He assured that this number will reduce further by next year. Mr Shah also highlighted that Deaths of civilians and security forces have reduced by 70 percent.
He said that Naxalism is the biggest obstacle in the path of development, and it is not going to benefit anyone. Mr Shah has appealed all the youth associated with Naxalism to leave the weapons and come in mainstream.
He said that around 13 thousand youth from Naxal affected states including the North-East, Jammu and Kashmir, and Chhatisgarh have shunned their weapons and joined the mainstream.
