7 bridges to be repaired in the Capital City

Agartala, Oct 24 (FD) The Jawhar bridge on the river Haora and six other bridges around the capital city would be repaired by the state government, official sources said today.

The state government has designed a project for repair of seven bridges including the Jawhar Bridge on River Haora in Battala and the Lake Chowmuhani Bridge on Katakhal. Five other bridges also will come under this project.

Jawhar bridge, the oldest one was built before the Bangladesh liberation war in 1971, but it came to the scanner of the engineers that it needs repair of the pillars and Rs. 65 lakh would be spent.

The Lake Choumuhani Bridge is not an RCC structure and the railings of the bridge need to be repaired ad for this purpose, Rs 85 lakh would be required. FD JK
