40 people fall ill after consuming prasad in Srirampur Village

Agartala, Jun 23 (FD) In a concerning incident, 40 individuals have fallen ill after consuming prasad (an offering) during a Bipadnashini puja in Srirampur village, located in the Kanchanpur sub-division under the North Tripura district.
According to local sources, on June 20, residents of Srirampur village participated in the puja held at the residence of Pintu Nath, which is situated opposite the Government English Medium School. Unfortunately, after consuming prasad at the puja, at least 40 people, including Pintu Nath's family members, fell ill.
Despite receiving initial treatment, the affected individuals continued to experience symptoms such as stomach aches and loose motions. As a result, they were admitted to the nearby sub-divisional hospital for further medical attention.
Currently, 20 people from 16 families, including two children aged 4 and 8, are still undergoing treatment at the Kanchanpur sub-divisional hospital.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident to determine the cause of the illness and ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent such occurrences in the future. The health and well-being of the affected individuals remain a top priority, and the medical staff is providing necessary care and treatment to aid in their recovery. FD SB
